Our chefs in both our education and assisted living sectors have used their skills to help those in Ukraine – they created delicious cakes and treats to sell and raise money for the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
And we would like say a huge thank you to both our schools and our clients for supporting the sales – altogether they raised an amazing total of £6, 815!
The idea for the sales came from our education sector operations manager Keighley Ridler-Cannon, who already helps out at soup kitchens and carries out charity work during holiday time.
She said: ‘I am deeply saddened by what is happening in Ukraine and decided that I had to do something to help.
‘My team and my clients agreed, and everyone rallied round to organise bake sales at our schools.’
One school, St Mary’s and St Peter’s Primary, in Teddington, raised an astounding £1,112.
Our assisted living operations manager Dianne Cook got her teams involved as well and sales of cakes at our assisted living sites have raised an additional £667.
Radish’s managing director Rebecca Bridgement, and some of its senior management team also joined the catering teams in creating more mouth-watering treats which went on sale in our Harpenden office.
Keighley said: ‘It’s fantastic that we have all been able to come together to raise so much money.
‘I really think it is important to help others who need it and we need to be kind and help where we can.’
Rebecca said: ‘I would like to say a huge thank you Keighley and her teams in the education sector and to Dianne and her assisted living teams.
‘All of us in Radish are hugely proud of what you have achieved and we hope that this will help make a difference to those suffering in Ukraine.’
